Resolutions????

Just wondering if anyone had any New Years resolutions they wanted to share ....
The only one I have to publicly share is that I will stop buying Hershey's Cookies and Cream bars in the checkout line at Wal Mart, and eating them in the car on the way home.....bad bad bad! Other than that I am good...I just want to spend more time with my husband, and reinstate date night if I can. It is hard not having family up here to help out with that. Happy New Years to you all....and don't forget your Designated Driver, if that is what you are up to tonight! xoxo

Random...I know...

I just saw this picture on a friends facebook, and I smiled really big! I guess I am missing my old dog Louie, she was a sheltie :)

Also, I just had to announce that today, December 10, I got rid of all my maternity clothes...hallelujah! I am just happy I don't have to "go there" again! For anyone that watched Biggest Loser last night, I felt like burning them as well....but I figured someone here on base could probably use them, so I donated them. I guess having my husband away for 4 weeks was just stressful enough for me to drop those extra pounds, and when you gain 50 in a pregnancy, there are quite a few that try to hang on longer than you'd like!

And, just for good measure.....here is the video that always makes me smile

Potty Training 101

So, we are now officially potty training around here...and I feel like I know what I am doing, but I could always use some tips and tricks. Paige is doing great during the day, but nights are hard...and she freaks out if she goes in her diaper at night. I guess I will have to cut her water off at like 6, or some thing? I would love to hear what you all have to say!

The Business of Being Born

I watched this movie last night, produced by Ricki Lake, and I found it to be sooo interesting. It just looks at the birth practices in the US compared to other developed countries. Check it out if you can...I got it through Netflix so it should be widely available now. You can watch the trailer for the movie at www.thebusinessofbeingborn.com to get a sneak peek. I will forewarn you though...I cried soooo much watching it; lots of live births and new babies. Also, an interesting link from their website is The Birth Survey. You can go here and input specific information about your birth experience for it to be put into a database so to speak. This info could be so useful to other expecting mothers...

I thought this was cute...

As I re-examine my Mommyhood now that I have 2 kids, I feel like my life is soooo much better and soooo much harder all at the same time. AND since my husband is gone for a while, I am a little more sappy than usual, so here goes...

What changes when you have a baby? A better question may be: What doesn't change? Here, writer and mom Rebecca Woolf lists her most notable post-baby observations. Then scroll down to read our favorite comments from readers about how their babies changed their lives.

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.

2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.

3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.

4. You respect your body ... finally.

5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.

6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.

7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.

8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.

9. Your heart breaks much more easily.

10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.

11. Every day is a surprise.

12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)

13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.

14. You become a morning person.

15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.

And from our readers...

1. "You discover how much there is to say about one tooth." — Ashley's mom

2. "You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth." — Anonymous

3. "You now know where the sun comes from." — Charlotte

4. "You'd rather buy a plastic tricycle than those shoes that you've been dying to have." — Sophie's mom

5. "You realize that although sticky, lollipops have magical powers." — Roxanne

6. "You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night." — Kellye

7. "Silence? What's that?" — Anonymous

8. "You realize that the 15 pounds you can't seem to get rid of are totally worth having." — Brenda

9. "You discover an inner strength you never thought you had." — Ronin and Brookie's mom

10. "You no longer rely on a clock — your baby now sets your schedule." — Thomas' mom

11. "You give parents with a screaming child an 'I-know-the-feeling' look instead of a 'Can't-they-shut-him-up?' one." — Jaidyn's mom

12. "Your dog — who used to be your 'baby' — becomes just a dog." — Kara

13. "You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late." — Tracey

14. "You learn that taking a shower is a luxury." — Jayden's mom

15. "You realize that you can love a complete stranger." — Dezarae's mom

16. You find yourself wanting to make this world a better place. — Arizona

17. If you didn’t believe in love at first sight before, now you do! — Ciara

30 Day Shred

So, I tried this Jillian Michaels workout today...part one of her 30 Day Shred program, and I have to say that it was one of the best workouts I have had in a LONG time. The workout is designed in a 3-2-1 order, 3 min. strength, 2 minutes cardio, and 1 minute of abs....and then it repeats but the exercises change. Very effective, and I was drenched after 20 minutes. I highly recommend. If you have Comcast Cable, I did it for free on On Demand in the Exercise TV section. Baby Weight, Be Gone!!

These looked tasty, and pretty healthy too!!

LOVE THIS!

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
something perfect to wear if her employer,
or date of her dreams
wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a youth she's content to leave behind....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward
to retelling it in her old age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
one friend who always makes her laugh
and one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a good piece of furniture not previously owned
by anyone else in her family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a feeling of control over her destiny..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend
without ruining the friendship...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK
AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that her childhood may not have been perfect...
but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
how to live alone...
even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table..
or a charming Inn in the woods....
when her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...

Six Quirks

Hello Ladies! This is a fun activity someone sent this to me and I thought what better way to find out more about all of you! All you do is list six quirks about yourself here are mine:

1. I have to take a HOT bath every night before I go to bed or I can't sleep

2. I think goldfish are one of the most disgusting creatures on the planet I can't even look them without feeling sick..Sorry Ruby no pet goldfish!

3. I will not let Jacob do anything that involves cleaning in the house, my OCD makes me have to have things cleaned a certain way or it drives me NUTS. It makes him so frustrated but that's just how it is

4. I don't drink milk anymore, but when I did I would not drink milk from anyone else's house but mine or my parents, it freaks me out

5. If I pass by a bathroom weather at my house or anyone else's and the toilet seat is up I have to close it

6. I LOVE MASCARA. I love to look at different mascara wands, if you ever want advice on good mascara just let me know

7......OH wait I could keep listing but it only said 6. Hope you have enjoyed a look into my madness. Can't wait to read yours!

He's Here!!

Baby River came on Thursday morning at 2:19 am. He came so quickly that there was no time for any drugs, so unfortunately I had to push his 8lb 14 oz butt out all on my own. Bummer! He is just perfect, and a very good baby. We are enjoying some much needed rest at home, and we hope you all have a great weekend too!
More to come on this little man soon...

More Preggo "Modeling", 36 weeks along

An amazing local photographer, Jaidean Baker, graciously invited me to model for her on a maternity shoot, and so I did.....these really are the only pictures of me pregnant that I like. My friend Jamie took some of me pregnant with Paige, and I do treasure those now that she is growing, as I am sure I will treasure these as baby River grows up. I encourage anyone that is pregnant to do something like this, even if you don't feel cute! You will miss that pregnant feeling someday, and these photos help take you back :)

"Survival School" on MOJO

As some of you know, a camera crew had been following Justin through the first few months of his training up here, and they have created a documentary series out of it called Survival School. It is going to be airing on the MOJO channel beginning Sept. 9th, but you can watch the first episode online now at www.mojohd.com
Justin isn't actually featured in this episode...except for talking about his run-in with a bear...but there will be 10 episodes in total, and I am sure he will have his fair share of camera time!
Enjoy!

Labor Day Weekend

Wow, it has been too long since I have visited our Mommy blog! Look what I was missing...Yummy cupcakes and the Paigey-Poo, update. We just got back from a long weekend in Tulloch lake with our old B-BE-BEYER crowd! Thursday was my 1st night away from Landon (who is now a whopping 8 months old!). Then on Fri & Sat we drove to Modesto to pick up Landon and bring him back to the lake. Wow! I can't wait for my Modesto friend to have babies (Not including Ariel & Steph, I mean the boys). Landon had a great time with everyone. I'll include a picture.

I'm fishing for B-day ideas...Matt's 30th bday will be here soon (Oct 16th) and I have been with him 4 ever, what haven't I given him! Any creative ideas? Gifts from Landon? Thanks Ladies! Have a Fabulous 2nd day of September!

Just an Update...

I just wanted to thank everyone for your care and concern regarding our Paige. The specialist feels that it will just be something that comes and goes, and that it is more likely a "defective lymph node" for lack of a better term. If it becomes a bigger problem later, it can be removed. I feel so much better knowing I don't need to worry anymore. Now I can get ready to have this baby...I will get induced on the 26Th unless he decides to come earlier! I am so excited, and we will certainly pass along the good news of his arrival once he is here. Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!!!

Guiltless Cupcakes

In my efforts to try and eat healthier I have been on the prowl for yummy food with not a lot of calories. I don't normally like sweets but it seems that when I try to cut them out of my diet I find myself craving them. Someone shared this guiltless cupcake recipe with me and I am hooked. It's going to sound strange but believe me they are DELICIOUS.

You need:
One Cake Mix
One Can Diet Soda of Your Choice
NO OIL NO EGGS JUST DIET SODA

And that is all. You mix the soda into the cake mix and you're done. Instead of using oil and eggs ,which packs on the calories, this is a much healthier alternative. I make 24 cupcakes out of the mix, the more you make the less calories in each one. Bake at temperature on box but be sure to check often as they don't take that long to bake. Jacob even eats them and thinks they are great. You can even add one serving of frosting(which is usually 2 tablespoons)for an even yummier treat. I reward myself with two at night for a day of hard mommy work and don't feel guilty afterwards. If you try it I would love to hear what you think!!! ENJOY

Our Ordeal

Even though some of you already know what has been going on, I just wanted to share what Justin and I have been going through the last two weeks...
We were putting Paige to bed on the 3rd, and I felt a huge lump on the side of her neck. It didn't look like a bite or anything I am usually familiar with on her body, and it was hard as a rock. We decided to take her to the ER since it was so close to her airway, and I didn't want her to stop breathing in the middle of the night....so at 9:30 we ended up at the ER. They did an x-ray, and a few Doctors checked her out, but nobody had a real answer for what was causing this. So they sent us home with antibiotics to start her on, and said to watch it closely.
We followed up with her Pediatrician, and she recommended an ultrasound, being that Paige had no other symptoms to explain the lump. She wanted to rule out a possible malignancy! When we heard that...we felt horrified. After much negotiation, we got her in for the ultrasound a week ago and the Doctor was very concerned by the results. He told Justin and I to be "concerned" and that Paige needed a CT scan asap. He felt her lymph nodes were abnormal on both sides of her neck, and that the one node was ridiculously enlarged for some reason. So we went home in shock, and of course called her Ped. to find out when we could get a CT scan. They advised us not to waste any time, and go to the ER to get one...and that they would be expecting us. So we spent about 7 hrs. at the ER waiting, getting an IV in Paige (horrible), sedating her for the scan (scary), and then waiting on results (even worse). It was the hardest thing Justin and I have EVER been through...not to mention I am having contractions the whole day, and Paige has never been to the ER or even sick for that matter! Our ER Doc said that the scan showed the abnormal nodes were only in her neck, which was good news, and that her blood work came back normal, which was also great news....BUT, they still didn't know what was causing all of this.
They referred us to a specialist from there, but said to watch it. SOOOOOO, we met with the specialist on Tuesday, and she wants to just watch it for another week before we do a biopsy. She was wonderful, and reassured us that she feels it will be fine, and will more than likely go away on it's own. As I write this today, her lump has started to shrink a bit, and I feel like it will go away soon.
Just the thought of my child having cancer has been the most terrifying thing....and I have never felt so helpless as I have in the past few days. We have appreciated everyones prayers and thoughts so much....I know they have helped.

I guess I am sharing this with the rest of you so you will hug your kids and husbands a little tighter today. This whole experience has helped put a tighter focus on what is the only important thing in our life...our kids and each other. I hope you all have a great weekend...

Yummy Toffe Bark!!!

Last night I hosted a recipe exchange and this is what I made.  It doesn't take long and it's pretty easy to make.  Also, you can make it a day or two before and just refrigerate or freeze it.  I've made it before and everyone LOVED it.  It's deadly because once you have just one bight, you'll want to eat it all.  So here's the recipe:

1 c. brown sugar (packed)

1 c. melted butter

1 pkg. Trader Joe’s semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips

Nabisco’s salted tops soda crackers

Trader Joe’s dry roasted unsalted almonds (chopped)

Preheat oven to 350.  Put foil over cookie sheet and spray with Pam butter flavor.  Place crackers salt side up on foil.  Melt butter then add brown sugar and stir over med. heat until it boils.  After sugar mixture has boiled for 3 minutes, pour over crackers and put in oven.  When it stars getting bubbly on top, turn oven down to 325 and let bubble for another 5 minutes.  Turn off oven and sprinkle choc. chips over mixture (crackers).  Leave in oven for 3 minutes.  They should be soft enough to spread evenly thereafter.  Sprinkle with chopped almonds and freeze for 45 minutes, or you may refrigerate.  Crack into pieces and enjoy!

Just wanted to share our recent trip to Mexico. I decided to take my 6 mo old (Landon) and he was a peach! We had such a great time!

PS Since I had the baby my hair falls out in big clumps? Any one else experience that? I would love to cut if off, but I know I'd regret it.
How crazy expensive is a baby?! I may switch to cloth diapers, not really.

$$ The Price of A Child $$

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition. But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into:
* $8,896.66 a year,
* $741.38 a month, or
* $171.08 a week.
* That's a mere $24.24 a day!
* Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have children if you want to be "rich." Actually, it is just the opposite.

What do you get for your $160,140?
* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
* A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate.
* A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140, you never have to grow up. You get to:
* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs, and
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to:
* keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,
* watching Saturday morning cartoons,
* going to Disney movies, and
* wishing on stars.
* You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, handprints set in clay for Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a
hero just for:
* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,
* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless.

You get a front row seat to history to witness the:
* first step,
* first word,
* first bra,
* first date, and
* first time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match. In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits. So one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!!

I LOVE THIS :)
Whenever I am having a tough day with Paige, I read this. It helps, A LOT!

The Twilight craze!

Have any of you read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer?  They're fantastic!!! I def. recommend reading them if you haven't already.  You can find a trailer of the movie on YouTube.  I tried to post it but it was having trouble.  The movie comes out in December.  I'm not kidding, it's a sexy, sexy, series, but very clean.  Stephenie Meyers is a Mormon gal.

Q & A starting solid food

Yep, I have another question about motherhood and I do believe there will be more to come. So thank you in advance and I love to hear what works for you!!

First of all Landon will be 6 months July 10th (right around the corner). I have given him rice cereal (like 1 table spoon each night) and he has tried peas & carrots. I want to know how often and how much did you feed your little ones. Since he does still eat 5.5oz every 3 or 4 hours. Do I give him a little after his bottle or wait a half hour then give him baby food?? Hmm.

I'm including a picture of my growing little Lan-man

Thanks,

Tricia

Games to Strengthen your Brain and Memory

My brain has been feeling a little sluggish the last few weeks, and so I have been trying to liven things up by doing a cross-word here and there. Here is a site that has a bunch of mind games if you are bored, or just need a few minutes to challenge yourself. Personally, I am addicted to Sudoku. I tried to do one puzzle everyday when I was preggo with Paige, and actually went into labor while doing one!

Help Make a Difference

Yesterday while I was on the computer I saw an article stating that hunger in Ethiopia is now spreading to adults. Along the side of the website was a picture of a boy that was so skinny he looked like a skeleton. It was so shocking that it brought tears to my eyes, knowing there was really nothing I could do to help. Can you imagine watching your child suffer because you could not feed them!?! But then I remembered a website my mom shared with me www.freerice.com. Basically they give you a word and then four definitions. If you get the answer right they donate 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program to end hunger. 20 grains doesn't sound like a lot does it? The more you answer correctly the more they give. The more people you tell about this website the more rice they will donate. Yesterday 143,200,580 grains of rice was donated. Let's help make a difference Ladies!!!

The Look For Less

My new favorite find has to be The Look for Less on the InStyle.com webpage. I love how it shows darling clothes at prices a Mom on a budget could actually afford! For example, you can find Thandie Newton's entire outfit for $40! Check it out for yourselves!

Just a question...

So I just got back from my Dr. appt, and long story short, my cervix looks a bit short. And, the little man's head is resting right there...he is SO low! I thought I carried Paige low, but this is a whole new thing! I had a vaginal ultrasound, and I am having some more tests done in two weeks to check it again. Did anyone have this problem? I guess the worst thing they would do is put me on bedrest, but we all know that would be a death sentance for Paige and I. I am just curious since this is a new thing for me...

Yep, I have only been back to work (I teach 1st grade) for 3 days and I'm already thinking about vacation. Before the baby my husband & I booked a trip to Puerto Viarta, Mexico. It sounded fabulous! Iced cocktails, soaking up the sun, swimming in the pool, and eating endless guacamole! We even invited the in laws to tag along and help take care of Landon. As the vacation is nearing (July 2-8) I'm having mixed feelings. A. Bring Landon to Mexico and risk him getting sick, dehydrated ,etc. B. Leave Landon with my Mom for 3 days and Stacy (my sister in law) for the other 3 days. Hmmm...If Landon comes I may be too worried about him and not be able to relax and throw back a few... or If Landon stays with family I may miss him too much. I'd like to hear pro's and con's, what would you do???? I'll keep you updated on what I decide.

Introducing Stephanie McKinney!

Hey all!!!  I'm very excited to be a part of this blog, so thank you Ariel for including me.  Whenever I get the chance to talk with other moms about poopy diapers, house cleaning, and serving my husband and children, it just makes me thrilled.  No I'm kidding, though I do look forward to getting advice on children and hearing about special deals at Macy's.

So a little about me.  I'm a stay at home mom and LOVE it.  Though it it hard at times (with never getting a break), there is no place I would rather be.  My children and my husband are my life.  My oldest daughter Sevrie is 4 and my baby Coral is almost 2.  I'm also 7 weeks prego so I'm juggling taking care of them with morning sickness. My husband just finished law school and is currently studying for the bar.  Our lives have been very chaotic the past three years so it's nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  We enjoy being outside.  Wether it's in the backyard, on a walk, or swimming, we are happy.  In MY spare time, though I have very little, I enjoy scrapbooking, arts and crafts, and excersising.  Excersising makes me sane, and my girls love going to the kids club at my gym.  They get to play and I get my head cleared.

Thanks again Ariel for including my in this blog.  I'm very excited!

Strawberry Bonbons

I am SOOOOO making these, and because I think this recipe is more of a method than anything, you could use whatever fruit/ice cream/cookie/chocolate combo you like. Our anniversary is in a week, and I think these would be a fun special treat. How cute would these be for a baby shower, or girls night! Impress your friends! http://www.rachaelraymag.com/recipes/dessert-recipes/strawberry-bonbons/article.html

Martha's Favorite Bow

I love my Martha Stewart, and I defer to her on most things crafty. This is how to tie the perfect bow for all your upcoming gift-giving.

STEP 1. Pass Ribbon over and under box, and back up sides. Thread both ends under top ribbon.

STEP 2. Tie a left-over-right knot, then shape two even loops.

STEP 3. Cross right loop over left. Thread right loop behind left, under, and up through hole.

STEP 4. Pull loops into a smooth knot. Adjust loops, trim tails to be slightly longer than loops.

And just like that....perfection in a ribbon!

Bye-Bye Baby Weight

I read an article that spoke to me, and the excuses I make up not to work out....after I have this baby,I am fully committed to losing all the weight but more importantly get back into shape. I used to be so strong and fit, and I haven't felt that way for a long time....so it is full force in October. Here's the full article, but I posted the excuses because that is the part I have to get past ;)

The article also recommends this book:

*NO WEASELING OUT!
Every excuse can be broken down.

What you say: "I can't find the time."
Why it doesn't hold water: You have to make the time. If that means hiring a trainer—whose time you're more apt to respect than your own—so be it. The cost of the sessions will be worth it, because you'll have a workout, tailored to your needs and weaknesses, that you can actually do on your own. For instance, Mann can do cardio until the cows come home, but she'll only motivate to sculpt and stretch when Gonzalez is around. "I much prefer to go out for a run than to do lunges in front of the TV," she says.

What you say: "But I'm nursing!"
Why it doesn't hold water: To keep up your milk supply, you need only 500 extra calories a day-and those should mostly be lean proteins (such as six ounces of skinless chicken breast), for your sake and your infant's. So it's especially important to make your food choices count while you're nursing. As Mann learned, a food log keeps you honest: "After the baby, I was eating entire boxes of Tastykakes. Now I think before I mindlessly shovel anything like that into my mouth."

What you say: "I'd rather spend the time catching up on sleep."
Why it doesn't hold water: True, sleep is a crucial aspect of staying healthy and sane, but so is exercise. While working out, you trigger hormones that relieve stress and stimulate blood flow, increasing the amount of oxygen your brain receives. With this burst of alertness, you're likely to feel more capable and invigorated. Mann found that when she got herself to do a circuit before sitting on the couch after work, she had more energy for the rest of the night.

Introductions!

I just wanted to introduce myself! My name is Tricia. I have a 5 month old baby boy.
http://b1.lilypie.com/OpT8m7.png
I have been friends with Ariel since high school. I'm so excited to get started with this blog. Thank you Ariel for putting this all together!

I'm addicted to these!

My new pregnant craving is french fries, but I can't eat the fast food ones for a lot of reasons....(we don't have to be a genius to figure those out) but I have found a substitute that does the trick without the guilt and intestinal consequences! Paige loves them too...

2-2 1/2 pounds baking potatoes
4 cloves garlic, smashed (I LOVE garlic)
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
2 rosemary sprigs, leaves removed and finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Pre-heat the oven to 425ºF.
Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise. Then cut each half into 4-5 long wedges, depending on how big the potatoes are.

Place the potato wedges and garlic on a cookie sheet. Drizzle with about three tablespoons of EVOO and toss to coat.

Season the potatoes with rosemary, salt and pepper and roast them for about 25 minutes, until potatoes are brown and tender. Flip the potatoes and continue to roast for about 10 minutes, or until cooked through.

Thanks Rachael Ray!

You can also sub the rosemary for any herb you like, or make them spicy for you and the hubby with some cayenne or chili powder!
